Joaquim Candel Guilana

Joaquim Candel Guilana has over 25 years of work experience in various HR and consulting roles. Joaquim began their career at LyondellBasell Chemical Europe as a European Corporate Compensation & Benefits Consultant. Joaquim then worked at Bankia as an In-House Lawyer, where they achieved efficiency gains through partial legal service outsourcing.

In 1995, Joaquim co-founded and served as the Managing Director of Vincitemp Management ETT, a Temporary Work Agency managing over 2000 labor contracts. Joaquim later joined IRTA as the Human Resources Organization Director, where they focused on talent acquisition and development and negotiated the institute's collective employment company regulation.

In 2004, Joaquim worked as the European Human Resources Manager on an interim basis at SMC Networks. Joaquim then joined ENDALIA, HR Consulting & Software as the Barcelona Office Director. During their time there, they developed and implemented HR software and consulting services for organizations such as CaixaBank, Airbus, and EADS. Joaquim also formed a strategic alliance with ESADE Business School to automate the Lead Program.

In 2010, Joaquim joined Global Business Partners (GBP) as a Senior HR Consultant, specializing in Human Resources and Organizational Development. Joaquim conducted HR management audits and staff performance appraisals.

Throughout their career, Joaquim also held multiple roles at ESADE Business & Law School. Joaquim served as a Senior Human Resources Consultant, an Academic Collaborator facilitating and teaching various programs, and an International Career Service Manager. In the latter role, they established agreements of corporate cooperation with companies such as l’Oréal, Hilti, and Cluster Consulting, leading to a 32% increase in ESADE Alumni finding jobs abroad.

Joaquim Candel Guillana has a diverse education history. Joaquim began their academic journey by pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Law at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona from 1983 to 1988. Following this, in 1989, they obtained a Business Management Certificate from the Escola de Gestió Empresarial in Girona, specializing in Business Administration and Management. From 1990 to 1992, Joaquim pursued a Master's in International Management (MBA International) at Esade, focusing on Business Administration and Management, General. In 1999, they furthered their education by studying Intellectual Capital Management and new trends in Human Resources Management at Esade. Finally, from 2013 to 2014, Joaquim attained a Master's degree in Labour Law from the Il·lustre Col·legi de l'Advocacia de Barcelona (ICAB).
