Chethra Muthiah

Chethra Muthiah currently serves as Co-Director of Infection Prevention and Control at NorthShore University HealthSystem since August 2019, specializing in acute care, quality, and patient safety. In addition to this role, Muthiah practices as a Physician in Infectious Diseases, focusing on general adult infectious diseases, bone and joint infections, and hospital epidemiology. As an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at The University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine since January 2021 and a Board Member at North Shore Country Day School since March 2020, Muthiah actively contributes to medical education and community governance. Previous experience includes positions at METRO INFECTIOUS DISEASE CONSULTANTS, The Ruth M Rothstein Core Center- Cook County Health, and Rush University Medical Center, encompassing various roles in infectious diseases and resident training. Muthiah holds a Doctor of Medicine from Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine and a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Michigan.
