Gonçalo Luiz

Gonçalo Luiz is the VP, Head of Engineering at Endeavor. Gonçalo previously served as the GM, Livestream EMEA from April 2015 to March 2016, and as the Head of Core Platform at PhotoBox from April 2013 to April 2015.

At Livestream, Gonçalo was in charge of the EMEA territories (sales, engineering and operations). Gonçalo was also a member of the senior leadership team of the worldwide business, and they line-managed a team of 43 people in four locations. Gonçalo owned a product vertical aimed at content rights holders (B2B), and they were responsible for 24/7 live support level 1, 2 and 3 with 5 minutes response time, five nines uptime, and 99.5% footage delivery.

At PhotoBox, Gonçalo was responsible for 5 P’s mission: Platform, People, Projects, Processes and Peak. Gonçalo line-managed a team of 30 permanent and several contractors (including local, offshore, and near shore personnel). Gonçalo also owned the eCommerce platform (source of 80% of the Company’s income), including its development and operations. In addition, Gonçalo owned several satellite, specialized systems (payment, delivery, shopping basket) and they were responsible for platform live support level 1, 2 and 3. Furthermore, they managed the technical integration with key partners and they had a permanent seat in the product steering committee. Lastly, Gonçalo was responsible for stakeholders management at the board level.

Gonçalo Luiz graduated from the Instituto Superior Técnico with a degree in Computer Science and Math. Gonçalo then attended the Escola Secundária de Odivelas for their high school degree. Lastly, they attended the Instituto de Ciências Educativas for their elementary school education.

Their manager is Nick Wilson, Chief Technology Officer. Gonçalo Luiz works with Roy Camp - VP, Technology, Dominic Cowell - VP, Head of Global Infrastructure, and Steven Andrew Butt - VP, Head of Technology, APAC.
