Wan Ching Anita Chen

Wan Ching (Anita) Chen has a long history of experience in intellectual property law. From 2007 to 2022, they have worked in various roles for different companies. In 2007, they worked as a Patent Engineer for Jepat Patent & Trademark Attorneys, where they prepared and prosecuted patent applications in chemical, biomedical and materials science arts. In 2008, they worked as a Patent Administrator for National Chiao Tung University, where they managed patent projects on prosecution, analysis, portfolios, and licensing. From 2010 to 2011, they worked as a Patent Attorney for Wood & Wu Patent and Trademark Office, where they drafted and prosecuted patent applications for clients in domestic and/or foreign areas. In 2013, they worked as a Trainee China Patent Agent for Beijing Sanyou Intellectual Property Agency Ltd, where they helped clients draft, file and prosecute their patent applications in domestic and/or foreign areas. From 2016 to 2017, they worked as a Senior Research Engineer for The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) at the Microsurgical Robotics Laboratory as an in-house intellectual property counsel. From 2017 to 2022, they worked as a Patent Counsel for both ColubrisMX, Inc. and XCath, Inc., where they evaluated and managed the companies' patent portfolios, developed and implemented patent strategies for the protection of the companies' innovations, and identified patentable subject matter. Finally, in 2022, they began working as an Intellectual Property (IP) Manager for EndoQuest Robotics\u2122, where they manage IP projects, identifies potential IP subject matters, conducts internal patent search in patentability, validity, infringement, and freedom-to-operate issues, oversees IP prosecution process, and supervises outside counsels and/or other relevant outside partners to ensure quality and timely work product.

Wan Ching (Anita) Chen obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biology, General from National Cheng Kung University between 1999 and 2003. Wan Ching (Anita) then obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from National Chengchi University between 2011 and 2016. In 2009, they obtained a Taiwan patent attorney certification. In 2012, they obtained a China Patent agent certification and in 2013, they obtained a China Copyright Agent certification.
