Nicole Thurnau

Nicole Thurnau has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Nicole currently holds the position of Senior Software Engineer II at Endpoint, where they are involved in delivering a streamlined closing experience for real estate agents and their clients. Prior to this, they worked as a Software Engineer at Dun & Bradstreet, contributing to the development of enterprise-level software solutions using React.js. Nicole has also worked as a Front End Engineer at Verndale, completing front-end development tasks and following industry best practices. Nicole has experience in the education field as well, serving as an Instructional Assistant at UCLA Extension and a Teacher Assistant at General Assembly, where they helped students with their assignments and projects. Nicole has also worked as a Sign Language Interpreter at RISE Interpreting and as a Teacher at Boston Public Schools and The Learning Center for the Deaf. Earlier in their career, Nicole gained research experience as a Research Assistant at Boston University, contributing to data collection, analysis, and reporting. Throughout their various roles, Nicole has demonstrated strong technical skills and a commitment to education and communication.

Nicole Thurnau has a diverse education history. In 2001, they began studying at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Communication Sciences and Disorders, with a specialization in General Studies. After completing their undergraduate education in 2005, they decided to further their knowledge in the field of education by enrolling at Boston University.

From 2005 to 2008, Nicole pursued a Master of Education (M.Ed.) at Boston University, specializing in the Education of the Deaf. This program provided their with the necessary skills and knowledge to work with students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

In 2014, Nicole obtained two additional certifications to enhance their qualifications. The first certification, "English as a Second Language 5-12 - Initial," was granted by the Massachusetts Department of Education. The second certification, "Teacher of the Deaf - K-12 - Professional," was also obtained from the Massachusetts Department of Education.

To further develop their skills and adapt to the changing technological landscape, Nicole enrolled in General Assembly in 2016. Nicole participated in the Web Development Immersive (WDI) program, focusing on both front-end and back-end web development.
