Tomohito Shibata

Tomohito Shibata is a Partner at Japan Energy Capital since 2022, focusing on investments in climate-tech companies to promote decarbonization in Japan, with notable investments including Akselos, ZincFive, and OhmConnect. Additionally, Tomohito serves as Executive Officer at ENECHANGE, where responsibilities include leading the VC investment division and managing a climate-tech start-up acceleration program. Prior to these roles, Tomohito worked at Bain & Company from September 2016 to 2022, progressing through various consultant titles, and gained experience as a Global Data Analyst Intern at Bloomberg LP in 2014. Tomohito holds a BA and MA from the University of Cambridge, an MSc in Economics and Policy of Energy and the Environment from UCL, and completed the Private Equity and Venture Capital program at Harvard Business School Executive Education.
