Hernán Errázuriz holds a Law degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
He has worked as an editorialist and columnist for the El Mercurio newspaper, he is a member of the Foreign Policy Council of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a board member at the Instituto Libertad y Desarrollo, President of the Chilean Council for International Relations, partner in the Law Firm of GuerreroOlivos Ltda., President of Chilena Consolidada Seguros de Vida (Zurich Group), and Director of Banco Security, Detroit Chile S.A. and Viña Lapostolle.
Mr. Errázuriz has worked as a lawyer for Banco de Chile (1970-1974); Prosecutor and Vice-President of the Banco Central de Chile (1976-1980); Mining Minister (1981-1982); President of the Banco Central de Chile (1983-1984); Ambassador to the United States of America (1984-1988) and Minister of Foreign Affairs (1988-1990).
