Paulina Musalem has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several companies and industries.
Paulina began their career in 1990 at Aetna Life Insurance Company, where they held various roles including Financial Analyst and Technical Product Manager. In these roles, they were responsible for financial analysis, investment studies, and developing pricing strategies.
In 1996, Paulina joined Aetna International Inc. as a Training International, where they performed asset/liability matching analysis and assisted in the financial analysis of South American markets.
Paulina then moved to Aetna Life Insurance Company in Chile in 1996 as a Technical Product Manager, focusing on life annuities and developing a pricing strategy. Paulina also assisted in the development of software applications and interpreted the company's operations for external consultants.
From 1999 to 2005, Paulina worked at Mediterranean Shipping Company as both an Intermodal Coordinator and an Intermodal Pricing Manager. In these roles, they were responsible for supervising worldwide agents, reorganizing procedures for ground transportation, and improving margins through better equipment utilization.
In 2005, they joined Munchener Consultora International as a Technical Assistant, where they prepared offers, analyzed insurance and reinsurance markets, and identified business opportunities.
From 2006 to 2012, Paulina worked at Occidental Chemical Chile as an Acting Assistant Financial Manager, overseeing planning and financial reporting, and filling in for the assistant financial manager during their maternity leave.
Paulina then joined Puertos y Logística S.A. (formerly Puerto de Lirquén S.A.) in 2006 as an Assistant Development Manager. In this role, they were responsible for budgeting, financial reporting, and investment project evaluations.
In 2012, Paulina joined Enel as a Capital & Markets Expert, coordinating operations in Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, and Peru. Paulina then took on the role of Enel Américas Sustainability Coordinator in 2018, where they led evaluation processes and implemented sustainability improvement plans.
Currently, Paulina works at Enel as the Head of Sustainability Planning & Stakeholder Engagement and Human Rights. Their responsibilities include participating in materiality processes, human rights due diligence, and various working groups in circular economy and electro mobility.
In the future, they will be joining in Energy Transitions as an Embajadora de equidad de género in 2023. Overall, Paulina Musalem has a wealth of experience in finance, insurance, sustainability, and project management.
Paulina Musalem has a diverse education history. In 1998, they earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management, General from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. In the same year, they also completed another MBA program in Business Administration and Management, General from the University of St.Gallen. From 1985 to 1989, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts & Sciences degree majoring in finance, graduating with honors from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. In 2005, they obtained a Diplomado de Ingeniería Actuarial in Ingenería Actuarial from Escuela de Seguros. Paulina is currently working towards a Diplomado Internacional sobre Derechos Humanos y Empresas in Sostenibilidad from Universidad Alberto Hurtado, with an expected completion date in 2023.
