Umar Adamu Umar (NSE, NIM, COREN) is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the energy sector. Currently serving as an Assistant Chief Scientific Officer at the Energy Commission of Nigeria since January 2007, Umar has developed a significant database for oil and gas exploration to support policy-making, and played a key role in creating an energy sector framework with the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa. Previously, as a Senior Scientific Officer, Umar contributed to a ₦22 million solar energy project and led a UNDP-Global Environment Facility project analyzing energy consumption patterns in North-East Nigeria. Earlier experiences include serving as an Executive Trainee at UBA Group, where customer complaints were reduced by 30%, and as an Electronic Engineer at Bauchi State Television Authority, where preventative maintenance and troubleshooting were executed with exceptional skill. Umar holds a Master's degree in Applied Process Control from Newcastle University and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
