George Abulashvili

George Abulashvili has extensive experience in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy. George has worked as the National Coordinator and Director of the Energy Efficiency Centre Georgia since 1999, where they managed various projects and programs related to energy efficiency, renewable energy, and climate change issues. George also served as the Director of EECG and Country Expert in Georgia for the Covenant of Mayors East III project, promoting the CoM process in Azerbaijan and Georgia. In addition, they worked as a Local Coordinator for the Energy Saving Initiative in the Building sector (ESIB) project and was a partner at OPET Network.

George Abulashvili earned an Engineer's Degree in Mining and Power engineering from the Georgian Technical University, where they studied from 1982 to 1989. In 2007, they enrolled in a program called Lead - Inspiring leaders for a sustainable world, specializing in Cleaner Energy and Climate Change for Sustainable Development. The end year for this program is not specified, indicating that George Abulashvili may still be pursuing this field of study.

Energy Efficiency Centre Georgia

Energy Efficiency Centre (EEC) was established in 1999 by European Union within the framework of the EU Tacis Project "Creation of an Energy Efficiency Centre and Development Natural Energy Study in Georgia". The main objectives of EEC are: support to renewable energy and energy efficiency utilization for sustainable development and as a result improve national energy security level and minimize negative environmental impact. Increase awareness of the civil society and the country’s decision makers on the environmentally friendly and economically sound ways of energy production and consumption as well as on the potential for renewable energy and energy efficiency.
