Abhishek Gupta

Abhishek Gupta has extensive experience in the energy and infrastructure sectors. Abhishek currently holds the position of Head of International, Strategy, Project Evaluation & Assessment at Energy Efficiency Services Limited, where they formulate and evaluates business strategies for sustainable growth. Additionally, they are responsible for developing new business models and leading project appraisals.

Prior to this, Abhishek held the role of Vice President & Head- New Projects at BVG India Limited, where they successfully expanded the business into new domains such as renewable energy and telecom. Abhishek was involved in all aspects of business activities, including business development, tendering, contract negotiation, and project execution and delivery.

Abhishek also served as Senior Manager at BGR Energy Systems, leading the company's business development efforts in the Southeast Asia, Middle East, and Africa regions for conventional and renewable energy projects. Abhishek was responsible for establishing a dedicated team and formulating business strategies to enter new markets and build relationships with potential clients.

Before joining BGR Energy Systems, Abhishek worked as Senior Manager at Lanco Infratech Limited, where they led the business development team for the MENA and Southeast Asia regions. Abhishek played a key role in securing projects by formulating winning strategies and preparing competitive proposals.

Earlier in their career, Abhishek held the position of Manager at Delhi International Airport (P) Limited, where they were involved in business development, commercial activities, new business strategy, negotiation, and contracts. Abhishek successfully carried out vendor assessments and played a vital role in evaluating bids and selecting business partners.

Abhishek started their career at NTPC Limited as a Deputy Manager, where they gained valuable experience in the energy sector.

Abhishek Gupta earned a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. Abhishek attended the institute from 1996 to 2000.

Abhishek completed their Class XII education at S S S V Inter college, Faizabad, specializing in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. This was from 1994 to 1995.

Abhishek Gupta pursued a Post Graduate Diploma in Energy Management from the Management Development Institute, Gurgaon. Abhishek studied there from 2008 to 2009.

In 2020, Abhishek Gupta obtained an InforMEA Diploma in International Environmental Law and Governance from The United Nations Environmental Law and Conventions Portal.

Additionally, Abhishek Gupta has obtained several certifications in various fields. These include the "Education sector analysis and data literacy" certification from UNICEF, the "Introductory Course on SDG 16 and access rights, the Aarhus Convention, and the Escazú Agreement" certification from InforMEA, and the "SDG Primer Test" certification from UN SDG:Learn. Abhishek obtained these certifications in 2021.

In 2020, Abhishek Gupta obtained the "Effectiveness and Compliance of Multilateral Environmental Agreements" certification from the United Nations Information Portal on Multilateral Environmental Agreements. Abhishek also completed the "Introduction to Environmental Governance," "Introduction to Human Rights and the Environment," "Introductory course to International Environmental Law," and "Introductory course to the international legal framework on Environmental Impact Assessment" certifications from different institutions such as the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and The United Nations Environmental Law and Conventions Portal.
