Rajan Gupta is the Senior Managing Director at Energy Innovation Capital. Rajan has over 17 years of experience in private equity and growth investing, with a focus on the energy and industrial sectors.

Gupta began their career as a Senior Vice President at GE Capital, Equity, where they were responsible for sourcing, executing, and managing private equity investments. Rajan then moved to SC Partners, an advisory firm that provides services to growth equity, venture capital, and alternative investment funds. In their role as Principal, Gupta advised clients on investments in the energy sector.

In January 2018, Gupta joined Silicon Valley Bank as Director. In this role, they provided financing and banking services to venture and growth stage companies in the energy and cleantech industries. Rajan left Silicon Valley Bank in December 2020 to join Energy Innovation Capital.

Gupta has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois and a MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

Rajan Gupta completed their undergraduate studies at Cornell University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Rajan then went on to earn their Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the University of Michigan - Stephen M. Ross School of Business, with a focus in Finance & Strategy.

Rajan Gupta reports to George Coyle, Managing Partner. They work with Vikki Dunn - Operating Partner, Paul Dickerson - Chief Operating Officer & Managing Director, and Chad Gardner - Principal.
