Laurie Heffron

Laurie joined ENE in November 2022 and works with the Energy Procurement team to optimize portfolios for wholesale customers including non-carbon compliance.

She began working in the Electric Utility Industry 31 years ago as an Energy Analyst for Braintree Electric Light Department and became Energy Services Manager in 1993, optimizing the light department’s power supply and demand side management portfolio. In addition to managing Energy Services for the Department, she took over the management of the Communications Division in 1998. In 2000, she became Electric Operations Manager before leaving in 2001. While at Braintree Light, Laurie was actively involved in the deregulation and restructuring of the electric utility industry and the drafting of the Regional Transmission Organization as well as Standard Market Design, helping to represent the interests of the municipal light plants during the process.

Laurie continued to work on power supply for municipal utilities including Braintree, Belmont and Hingham on a part-time basis while raising a family. She has maintained a working relationship with Energy New England while working for Municipal Light Plants on their resource portfolios.

She graduated from Northeastern University with a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering.
