Sophie Allen

Sophie Allen is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in the renewable energy sector. Currently serving as Principal Engineer Fringe of Grid at Energy Queensland since October 2016, Sophie has a strong track record of implementing innovative solutions to supply customers in challenging grid areas. Previous roles at Energy Queensland include Project Engineer Western Grid and Acting Manager Products & Services, where responsibilities involved developing renewable energy products and addressing supply challenges in western Queensland. Before joining Energy Queensland, Sophie worked with Ergon Energy in various capacities, including Project Development Manager and Renewable Energy Engineer, focusing on renewable energy projects in remote communities. Sophie’s career began with project management roles in organizations such as Cairns Regional Council and SCA - Hygiene and Forest Products Company. Sophie holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Glasgow and a Diploma in Project Management from the Australian Institute of Management.
