Alexander Stumpf has a diverse work experience in the field of robotics. Alexander is currently working as the Lead Robot Software Engineer at Energy Robotics since 2023. Prior to that, they worked at the Technical University of Darmstadt for several years. From February 2020 to February 2023, they served as a University Research Assistant (Post-Doc), focusing on the development and research of supervised autonomous robotic systems. Alexander also contributed to open source ROS packages and worked on navigation, perception, and planning of legged systems.

Before their post-doc role, Alexander worked as a University Research Assistant from February 2014 to January 2020, where they continued their work in developing and researching autonomous mobile robotic systems. In addition, they were involved in full-stack ROS development and contributed to open source ROS packages.

In 2020, Alexander co-founded Freemotion Systems GmbH and served as a co-founder until December 2022. Alexander also worked as a Student Assistant at the Technical University of Darmstadt from April 2009 to July 2013.

Alexander Stumpf has a comprehensive education history in the field of computer science. From 2007 to 2010, they pursued their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree at Technische Universität Darmstadt, majoring in Computer Science. Following this, they attended the same university from 2010 to 2014 to pursue a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree. Their focus during this period was on Autonomous Systems as well as Computer Science. Alexander further expanded their knowledge and qualifications by enrolling in a Doctoral program at Technische Universität Darmstadt from 2014 to 2020, earning a Doktor-Ingenieur (Ph.D.) degree in Computer Science.
