Matt Friend

Matt Friend is currently the Head of Strategy at Energy Systems Catapult, a position held since January 2021. In addition, Matt operates as an Independent Consultant specializing in strategy, business plan and venture development, market analysis, and commercial due diligence, focusing on the low carbon sector. Notable projects include developing a strategy for a UK water supplier that identified over £100M in high-return investments. Prior experience includes serving as Managing Director of Branded Businesses at The Carbon Trust and a Global Business Support Partner at Diageo. Matt's career began at Gemini Consulting as a Senior Consultant. Educational qualifications include an MA (Hons) in Psychology & Philosophy from the University of Oxford and an MPhil in Philosophy from King's College London.
