Roland Risser

Roland Risser, Washington County, has extensive knowledge of residential, commercial and industrial energy efficiency program design, development and implementation, including low-income energy efficiency programs. He recently resumed support for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) after having retired from DOE where he was the director of the Building Technologies Office and then deputy assistant secretary of Renewable Power. His decades of energy experience include multiple leadership positions at Pacific Gas and Electric and serving on national boards for the American Council for an Energy-Efficiency Economy and the Consortium for Energy Efficiency. Roland earned a Master of Science in biology from California Polytechnic State University, a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of California at Irvine, and graduated from the University of California at Berkeley, Haas School of Business.
