Max Walser has served on the EnergyUnited Board of Directors since its inception in 1998 and also serves as president. Prior to that, Walser had been a member of the Davidson EMC board since 1975. Walser also serves as director on the EnergyUnited Services board.
Walser is a retired superintendent of Davidson County Schools who spent 37 years in education. He currently serves on the North Carolina Electric Membership Cooperative board and the North Carolina Association of Electric Cooperatives board.
He is a past chairman of the Davidson County Board of Commissioners and was appointed by former Governor Purdue to the North Carolina Economic Development Committee in February 2012. Walser has served on a variety of boards, including the Chamber of Commerce, Piedmont Triad Partnership, Hospice House building fundraising committee, Arts Council, board of trustees for Davidson County Community College, and Trading Path Association. Walser currently serves as chair of the Wilcox Bridge-Fort York County Committee. He is also a past member of several civic organizations.
Walser received his bachelor’s degree from Pfeiffer University, two master’s degrees from the University of North Carolina and his doctorate degree from Duke University.
