Iman Naziri has a diverse work experience in the field of data science and energy storage. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Data Science and Optimization at Energy Vault, where they are responsible for managing data science and optimization projects. Prior to that, Iman worked as a Modeling & Simulation Manager at Energy Vault.
Before joining Energy Vault, Iman worked at RWE as a Project Design Manager, specializing in energy storage. They were responsible for designing and managing energy storage projects.
Iman also worked at Wärtsilä as a Senior Data Scientist and Energy Storage Engineer. In this role, they focused on analyzing market opportunities for energy storage systems and sizing and valuing battery energy storage in various electricity markets.
Earlier in their career, Iman gained experience as an Electrical Engineer Intern at Parker Hannifin, where they developed control algorithms and conducted modeling and simulation of power conversion systems. They also worked as a Telecom Engineer at Persia Shidak Raya.
Iman's work experience also includes being a Research Assistant at UNC Charlotte during their PhD studies. Their research focused on modeling and simulation of renewable energy integration, optimal operation algorithms for energy storage, and planning and control of energy storage systems.
Iman Naziri completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering with a GPA of 4.00 from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2017. Prior to this, they earned a Master of Science - MS in the same field from the same university from 2012 to 2014. Additionally, Iman obtained a Master of Science (MSc) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology - Tehran Polytechnic, completing it from 2007 to 2010.
