Tarik Hussein's work experience began in 1993 at Cortest Instrument Systems, where they worked as a Designer and Developer until 1995. From 1995 to 1999, they worked as a Consultant at TR Technologies. After that, they joined Random Walk Computing as a Consultant from 1999 to 2003. Tarik then worked as a Consultant at Zuna Consulting, LLC from 2004 to 2006. From 2006 to 2009, Tarik worked as an Instrument Design Engineer at Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory. In 2009, they joined Lab49 as a Consultant and worked there until 2015. During their time at Lab49, in 2010, they also became the CTO and Cofounder of Audible Auto, Inc., where they worked until 2014. In 2012, Tarik worked briefly as an Architect and Developer at CreativeWorx. From 2015 to 2021, they worked at Google as a Senior Software Engineer. Currently, they are working as an Engineer at EnergyHub, starting in April 2021.
Tarik Hussein obtained a Master of Science (M.Sci.) in Technology Management from Columbia University, which they attended from 2007 to 2009. Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering and Applied Physics at Case Western Reserve University. The specific duration of their undergraduate studies is not provided. Additionally, Tarik Hussein obtained a certification in "Functional Programming Principles in Scala" from Coursera in May 2013.
