Koen Swinters

Koen Swinters has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Koen is currently a Software Engineering Manager at ABB E-mobility since September 2022. Prior to that, they held the same role at Sioux Technologies from September 2021 to September 2022. Before joining Sioux Technologies, Koen worked at Punch Powertrain from January 2021 to September 2021 as a Software & Controls Leader. Koen also served as the Team lead for software development at Punch Powertrain from September 2017 to January 2021.

Koen's earlier experience includes working at Sioux from January 2012 to May 2017 as a Technical Lead/Senior software designer. During this time, they were responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team and designing software/system architecture for embedded systems in the communication and automotive sectors. Koen also worked as an Embedded Software Designer from January 2011 to December 2012 and as a Senior Software Engineer from November 2006 to February 2011 at Sioux.

Before joining Sioux, Koen worked at PVS Hasselt from August 2002 to September 2006 as an R&D hardware/software designer. Koen was responsible for designing hardware, firmware, software, and mechanics for new audio products and also led projects within the R&D department.

Koen's earliest experience includes working at Philips Optical Storage from August 1998 to July 2000 as a Hardware Design Engineer and later as a Senior Hardware Engineer.

Overall, Koen Swinters has accumulated extensive experience in software engineering management, embedded systems design, and hardware/firmware/software development throughout their career.

Koen Swinters completed their secondary education at Middelbare school TISM from 1988 to 1994, with a focus on industrieele wetenschappen. Following that, they attended Katholieke Hogeschool Limburg from 1994 to 1998, where they obtained a Master's degree in industrieel ingenieur electriciteit optie electronica.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Koen Swinters has obtained several certifications. In September 2014, they became a certified scrum master through the Scrum Alliance. More recently, in April 2021, they obtained the VOL - Veiligheid voor Operationeel Leidinggevenden VCA certification from BE-CONSULT bvba.
