José Moutas de las Alas Pumariño

José Moutas de las Alas Pumariño has a diverse work experience spanning from 2002 to the present. José began their career as a Business Lawyer at the law firm Gutierrez de la Roza Abogados (nowadays Ontier), where they focused on litigation, bankruptcy proceedings, and the renewable energy sector. Their responsibilities included contract drafting and negotiation, as well as the development of wind and solar projects in Mexico, Spain, and the USA.

In 2008, José joined N+1 Eolia SGECR SA as the Head of the Legal Department, where they directed the funds managed by the company that were dedicated to solar and wind electricity projects. José was responsible for project development, due diligence analysis for acquisitions, negotiation and drafting of multinational sale and purchase agreements, contract management, litigation, and energy-regulatory advice.

From 2012 to 2017, José served as the Head of the Legal Department at Ence - Energía y Celulosa, a Spanish company listed on the Spanish stock exchange that produces paper pulp and electric energy from biomass. During this time, they specialized in corporate law for listed companies, M&A, financing agreements, project development, negotiation and drafting of EPC and supply agreements, contract management, compliance, European competition and privacy law, and energy-regulatory advice.

As an Independent Consultant since 2017, José has three main focuses: renewable energy, collaborating with the US intellectual property law firm SteinIP, and helping companies land their business projects in the EU and Spain. José provides expertise in legal, regulatory, and market frames in the renewable energy sector in both the Americas and Europe.

In 2019, while working as a consultant in the USA, José started working with Khiron Life Sciences Corp. as a project manager and later became the full-time country manager for Spain. José played a crucial role in launching the project and dealt with the challenges of working in a highly regulated sector.

Most recently, José joined EJI Abogados López-Ibor Mayor y Asociados in 2020 as a Partner, and in 2021 they joined Enfinity Global as the Head of Legal Europe.

José Moutas de las Alas Pumariño pursued their education with a focus on law. José obtained their Licenciatura in Derecho from Universidad CEU San Pablo from 1994 to 1999. Building on this foundation, they furthered their academic qualifications by pursuing a Master of Laws - LLM in Law for Corporations at IE Business School from 2003 to 2004.
