Jennifer García

Jennifer partners with foundations, nonprofits, and public agencies to support transformative change and advance equity. As an applied researcher committed to social justice, she is passionate about putting research into action. She prioritizes community voices and collaborative methods in her work.

Jennifer brings over a decade of experience as a health equity scholar with expertise on the social determinants of health, mixed-methods approaches, and community-based participatory research. Prior to joining Engage R+D, Jennifer worked in a variety of research and teaching roles at the intersection of public health and social justice. Her areas of focus include Critical Race Theory, residential segregation, racialized health disparities, stress and resilience, and trauma-informed approaches. She has published in peer-reviewed journals such as the American Journal of Public Health and the DuBois Review.

At Engage R+D, Jennifer uses her research and evaluation skills to translate complex data into actionable recommendations that support organizational, policy, and social change. Current clients include the James Irvine Foundation and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Jennifer is part of the third cohort of Leaders in Equitable Evaluation and Diversity (LEEAD), where she has received training in culturally responsive and equitable evaluation.
