Tim Stirrup has had a varied career, beginning in 2002 as a Research Assistant at CATIE. In 2005, they founded SRS Student Removals Service, and in 2007 they founded Ecological and Environmental Consultancy - USEEC at the University of Southampton. In 2008, they began working as a Patent Attorney - Associate at Baldwins Intellectual Property and a Research Fellow at the University of Auckland. In 2014, they worked as a Patent Attorney at LanzaTech, and in 2017 they worked as an IP Advisor at Auckland UniServices Limited. In 2018, they worked as an Intellectual Property Consultant at Prime Innovation Limited, and in 2021 they worked as an IP/Legal Manager at Engender Technologies Limited. Currently, they are working as an IP Advisor / Patent Attorney at Outset Ventures.
Tim Stirrup completed their PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Southampton from 2003 to 2007. Prior to that, they obtained a Natural Sciences degree from the University of Bath between 1999 and 2003, with a focus on Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Biology, and Philosophy of Science.
