Meabh Smith currently serves as the Digital Health Clinical Safety Lead at the Health Service Executive, a position held since August 2023, while also contributing as Secretary of the Biomedical Engineering Division at Engineers Ireland since 2018. Prior experience includes significant roles at Beaumont Hospital, where Meabh worked as Health Technology Advisor and Chief Operations Officer from September 2015 to August 2023, and previously as Medical Device Vigilance Officer and Business Continuity Coordinator from January 1995 to September 2014. Meabh's educational background comprises multiple degrees, including a Master of Science in Business Management from Dublin City University, a Master of Science in Physical Sciences in Medicine from Trinity College Dublin, and a Post-graduate Diploma in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from the University of Patras. Additionally, Meabh held the position of Chairperson of the Biomedical Engineering Division at Engineers Ireland from 1994 to 1997.
