With extensive experience in science and technology policy, Jackson has held various influential roles, including AAAS Congressional Science & Technology Policy Fellow in the United States Senate and AIP/AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellow at the U.S. Department of State. Jackson has also contributed to prominent organizations such as Engineers & Scientists Acting Locally, where responsibilities include financial oversight and strategic planning. A PhD graduate from the University of California, Berkeley, Jackson's academic background includes significant research in chemistry and active participation in diversity initiatives and student leadership.

Engineers & Scientists Acting Locally (ESAL) is a national 501(c)3 organization committed to increasing civic participation among people with backgrounds in STEM. Founded by engineers and scientists experienced in public policy, ESAL serves as a platform for bridging technical expertise with community needs. Operating as a non-partisan and non-advocacy group, we facilitate informed dialogue, encourage innovative problem-solving, and support the integration of scientific insights into local decision-making processes. Our goal is to build a robust network of STEM experts who are dedicated to driving positive change within their communities.
