Jan Auerbach has extensive experience in community service and education, currently serving as Treasurer and Past President of the McLean Rotary Club since June 2010. Auerbach has been involved with the Literacy Council of Northern Virginia since November 2001, working as a tutor and Discussion Group Leader for Adult ESL students. Previous roles include Vice-Chair and Chair of the Capital Facilities Committee at the McLean Community Center, and President of the Safe Community Coalition. Auerbach's professional background includes a significant tenure as Branch Chief at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, with a focus on various environmental programs. Educational credentials include an MBA from The Wharton School, an MA and PhD in American Diplomatic History from Georgetown University, and a B.S. in Secondary Education-Social Studies from Kent State University.
