Michael Carter

Senior Properties Historian at English Heritage

Michael Carter is a seasoned historian with a focus on properties, currently serving as Senior Properties Historian at English Heritage since January 2015, having previously held the role of Consultant Properties Historian at the same institution. Academic experience includes positions as an Andrew W Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow at the Courtauld Institute of Art, and as a Visiting Lecturer at both the University of Kent and the University of York, teaching undergraduate courses on Gothic art, architecture, and late medieval architecture in England.
