Nick Merriman

Nick Merriman is an accomplished museum leader with extensive experience in senior management roles. Currently serving as Chief Executive at English Heritage since February 2024, Nick previously held the position of Chief Executive at Horniman Museum and Gardens from May 2018 to May 2024. Prior to that, Nick was the Director of The Manchester Museum from 2006 to April 2018. Nick also contributed to the field as Chair of the University Museums Group from 2009 to 2011, and as a Council Member for the Museums Association from 1986 to 2010. Additional experience includes being the Head of Early London History & Collections at the Museum of London from 1991 to 1997. Educational background includes attendance at King Edward's School Birmingham.
