Phelim McDermott

Phelim McDermott is an accomplished director and artistic leader with extensive experience in the performing arts, currently serving as a Visiting Director at the Metropolitan Opera and the English National Opera since 2008, where notable productions include "Satyagraha" and "The Perfect American." As the founding Artistic Director of OST Improbable and Improbable, since 1992 and 1995 respectively, Phelim has been influential in shaping innovative theatrical experiences. Previous engagement as a Board Member at the Actors Centre and the Open Space Institute USA highlights Phelim's commitment to arts advocacy. Additional directing credits include work with the National Theatre and West Yorkshire Playhouse. Phelim holds a BA (Hons) in Performing Arts from Middlesex University and has completed intensive training in Processwork, with ongoing studies in Arts, Entertainment, and Media Management at altMBA.
