Asif Yasir has a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Chemical Engineering from National University of Sciences and Technology. Asif has worked at Engro Fertilizers Limited as a Graduate Trainee Engineer (Operations) and at Engro Corp as a Deputy Manager - Process and Process Engineer. As a process engineer, Asif received training at Urea-3 Plant and was responsible for daily monitoring of critical parameters and report generation. At Engro Fertilizers, Asif trained as an operations engineer at URUT-1 Plant and studied GE Gas turbines operational philosophy, control systems, and power networks components.

Engro started with its flagship business, Engro Fertilizers, over 50 years ago. Engro then established two JVs: one with Royal Vopak of the Netherlands in 1997, creating Engro Vopak Terminal, and another with Mitsubishi, called Engro Polymer & Chemicals. Established in 2005, Engro Foods now has shareholding by FrieslandCampina, thus renamed FrieslandCampina Engro, and Engro Energy was launched in 2006 to address the nation’s energy crisis. In 2018, Engro Infiniti was created with a mandate to invest in digital businesses, with Engro Digital focusing on industrial internet and artificial intelligence, and Enfrashare aiming to drive the development of the country’s connectivity infrastructure. The group continues to grow by venturing into businesses with global leaders in their fields and bringing the best of the world to Pakistan.
