Ara Mermerian

Ara Mermerian is a Principal Scientist in Discovery Chemistry with over 18 years of expertise in medicinal chemistry, small molecule drug discovery, and chemical biology. They have demonstrated excellence in synthetic organic chemistry and have led multiple drug discovery projects, employing advanced techniques such as crystallography and biophysics. Ara's past roles include key positions at esteemed institutions, including Harvard Medical School and ROME Therapeutics, where they managed teams and collaborated cross-functionally to drive drug development efforts. Currently, Ara serves at Enko®, focusing on innovative chemistry solutions. They hold a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and dual Bachelor’s degrees in Applied Mathematics and Chemistry from the University of California, Los Angeles.
