Erica Young

CLO and EVP Corporate Development at ENMAX

Erica Young is the current CLO and EVP Corporate Development at ENMAX. Prior to this, they held the position of SVP General Counsel & Corporate Secretary at NaturEner Energy Canada from January 2008 to December 2016. In this role, they were responsible for providing legal advice to Management and Board of Directors across renewable energy business lines. Erica has broad experience in energy regulatory hearings and proceedings in Canada and US for wind energy project and transmission line approvals, market rules and orders, investments/acquisitions, project finance, transmission rights and carbon offset contracting, litigation management, public consultation and stakeholder engagement, real estate/land rights management, environmental law, tax audits, employment law, power generation equipment procurement, construction services contracting and corporate governance. Erica also had executive responsibility for US & Canadian enterprise insurance/risk programs and was a leader of corporate relationships with key industry stakeholders. Erica was also a member of Executive Committee. Prior to their time at NaturEner Energy Canada, Erica worked at ENMAX Corporation.

Erica Young received their LL.B. from York University - Osgoode Hall Law School. Erica also has a Bachelor's Degree from Lakehead University, where they graduated with First Class Standing. In 2006, they were admitted to the Law Society of Alberta, and in 2002, they were admitted to the Law Society of Upper Canada (Ontario). Erica has also completed an Advanced Certificate in US Energy Law from the University of California, Berkeley - School of Law.
