Eno River Association

The Eno River Association is a 501c3 non-profit conservation organization whose mission is to conserve and protect the natural, cultural and historic resources of the Eno River basin. Since 1966, the Association has worked actively to protect the lands and waters along the Eno River and its tributaries. Our efforts to date have resulted in more than 7,000 acres of protected lands. These acres are largely contained within five public parks: the Eno River State Park, the Occoneechee Mountain State Natural Area, West Point on the Eno Durham City Park, Penny’s Bend Nature Preserve and the Little River Regional Park. The Eno River Association also engages in a variety of other activities, from environmental education to advocacy. We engage in advocacy for the protection of the river and the environmentally responsible development of our community, especially those lands nearest to the river and her tributaries. We host both a winter and spring hike series along the Eno River, to educate the community on the flora, fauna and history of the river. The Association also produces the fun and amazing Festival for the Eno. Now in its third decade, the Festival attracts over 20,000 people in July to the banks of Eno River for a two-day festival full of live music, craft artists and delicious food. All proceeds from the Festival for the Eno go toward the protection of Eno River conservation lands.
