Reservoir Automation Director at Enovate Upstream

Dr Oscar M. Molina is Senior Reservoir Engineer at Enovate Corporation.

Molina leads the R&D Division of Enovate, where he develops cutting-edge, fast nonlinear solvers for unconventional reservoir simulation, using hybrid implementations of analytical models and nonlinear optimizers, that enable near real-time production forecasting. He also led the development of machine-learning-driven engineered completions design for real-time applications. Molina also leads a team who advises E&P companies on refracturing candidates and opportunities for incremental production.

Molina joined Enovate Corporation in January 2020. Before joining Enovate, Molina spent 5 years as a Facilities and Process Engineer in various oil and gas fields in Colombia and Peru, in a wide range of engineering projects, including pipeline throughput analysis, surface facilities design and maintenance, and process design and simulation. He has a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana (Colombia), and master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Petroleum Engineering from Louisiana State University.
