Prior to this, Dr. Shields served as the Chief Operating Officer at SunDesh Solar, where they led strategy and business development efforts for a fast-growing renewables company specializing in wind and solar energy. Dr. Joseph was responsible for solution development, go-to-market strategies, and transaction advisory.

Dr. Joseph has also held positions as a Visiting Faculty at Tata Institute of Social Sciences and TMTC Pune, where they shared their expertise in strategy and business coaching. Dr. Joseph Shields completed their education in a variety of fields. Dr. Joseph began their educational journey by earning a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, a recognized institution, from 1986 to 1990. Following this, they pursued higher education at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore from 1995 to 2000, where they obtained an MBA (Master of Business Administration) degree alongside a PhD (Fellow Program) in the field of Corporate Strategy. Prior to these accomplishments, Dr. Shields completed their high school education at Little Flower Junior College from 1984 to 1986, focusing on Sciences. Additionally, they have obtained a certification in AWS Partner Accreditation (Business) from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in February 2021.
