Fern Paterson

Fern Paterson has a diverse work experience in environmental and sustainability roles. Most recently, they serve as a Deputy General Counsel & Director of Environmental & Sustainability at Enpro. Prior to that, Fern worked as an Assistant General Counsel, EHS at Pactiv Evergreen Inc., providing counsel on environmental regulations for the company's manufacturing facilities. Fern also worked as a Partner at Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP, representing clients in environmental investigations and enforcement actions. Fern started their career as an Air Quality Permit Engineer at the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality and later worked as a Senior Air Quality Consultant at Trinity Consultants.

Fern Paterson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from North Carolina State University from 1996 to 2001. Later, from 2008 to 2012, they obtained a Juris Doctor degree in Law from North Carolina Central University. Additionally, Fern Paterson also obtained a certification as a Professional Engineer from the NC Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors in 2008. Prior to their undergraduate studies, they attended the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics from 1994 to 1996, but did not receive a degree.
