Thom Canning-Skinner

Thom Canning-Skinner is a licensed professional counselor who has worked in various settings, including schools, universities, and private practice. Thom is currently the director at ENRICHMENT SERVICES PROGRAM INCORPORATED.

Thom began their counseling career in 2005 at Cherokee County School, where they worked with students on a variety of issues, including academic success, career planning, and personal growth. In 2010, they began working at Kennesaw State University's Center for Conflict Management, where they helped students resolve personal conflicts and develop positive interpersonal skills.

In 2012, Thom began working as a school counselor at Cobb County Schools. In this role, they worked with a transient student population and helped to create a nurturing and enriching learning environment. Thom also assisted with student registration, scheduling, graduation, promotion, and career and college readiness.

In 2015, Thom left Cobb County Schools to begin working in private practice. In this role, they provide counseling services to individuals and families on a variety of issues, including relationship difficulties, life transitions, grief and loss, and stress management. Thom is also a certified hypnotherapist.

Thom Canning-Skinner has an EdD in Executive Leadership from Lincoln Memorial University, a post graduate certification in Educational Leadership from Kennesaw State University, and a Masters of Science in Special Education and Rehabilitation from the University of West Georgia- School Counselor Certification Utah State University. Additionally, they have an MS in Special Education/Rehabilitation from Utah State University and a Bachelor of Science in Social Sciences from Westminster College. Finally, they have a degree in musical theatre from Brigham Young University.
