Hubert P. has a long and varied work experience. Hubert started in 2007 as a Software Developer at LShift, where they worked part-time during the academic year and full-time outside of it. As part of their degree requirement, they also completed a 6-month internship. At LShift, they worked on the RabbitMQ Java and C# client-side as well as on the server-side (Erlang), providing support for business applications for one of the leading banks. In 2009, they began a PhD Student position at Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). In 2010, they became a Software Developer at Typesafe. In 2015, they returned to LShift as a Senior Software Developer. In 2017, they began a Senior Software Developer role at Oliver Wyman, and then a Principal Engineer role at ShiftLeft Inc. Currently, they are a Compiler Engineer at Enso, where they are hacking on compilers to make the Enso language powerful and fast, while having fun with GraalVM on the way.
Hubert P. completed a Research Doctorate in Computer Science and Programming Languages from EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) between 2009 and 2015. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Computer Science from Imperial College London between 2005 and 2009.
