Enstrom Helicopter Corporation

Enstrom Helicopter Corporation designs and builds light, single-engine helicopters, both piston and turbine, for personal, commercial, and government use. Our mission is to deliver the safest and best-supported helicopters in the world. Safety has been a primary factor in all design decisions, including development of the high-inertia rotor system, rugged airframe, and robust landing gear. All Enstrom helicopters have features that make them unique in the industry. Our helicopters have a patented swashplate/control system and are the only rotorcraft with protected, internal controls. Our unblocked tail rotor design gives our aircraft some of the best flight characteristics in the industry. And all of our models sport all-metal blades—made in-house—that have no time life limit. We also have an outstanding support system and a passionate group of Enstrom owners. Enstrom currently produced two piston models and one turbine: The pistons—F28F and 280FX—are the only turbocharged piston helicopters in the world. The F28F is the workhorse of the fleet, boasting a slightly larger cabin and easy ingress/egress. The aerodynamic 280FX combines style with performance. The 480B, our turbine model, boasts greater power and performance with a Rolls-Royce engine and increased useful load. The variation 480B-G comes equipped with the Garmin G1000H integrated, glass cockpit—the only helicopter in its class with this sophisticated electronic equipment. Currently in development, the TH180 will expand our presence in the training market. This piston-powered, two-seat machine will incorporate all of Enstrom’s safety features while reducing acquisition and operating costs. We suspect personal transportation, patrol, and survey markets will also have their eye on this new player. Enstrom helicopters are proudly made in the USA. The plant is located in Menominee, Michigan.
