Albertus van der Vyver

Albertus van der Vyver has accumulated extensive experience in IT management and infrastructure roles over the past two decades. Albertus currently serves as the VP of Cloud Infrastructure and Security at Entersekt, where they are responsible for the implementation and management of cloud and colocation services. Prior to this role, they worked as the Director of Infrastructure at RapidDeploy, overseeing the global production infrastructure and leading various teams. Albertus has also held positions as a Cloud Solution Architect at Crayon, a Cloud Architect at Entersekt, and an IT Manager at MiX Telematics, among other organizations. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated a strong focus on implementing secure and highly available environments, supporting critical services and ensuring business continuity.

Albertus van der Vyver attended UNISA in Cape Town from 2007 to 2012, where they pursued a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree, but did not complete it. Prior to that, they completed their secondary education at Citrusdal High from 1987 to 1998, obtaining their Grade 12 and Matric Exemption. Additionally, Albertus has obtained several certifications, including AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional and Associate, Mikrotik MTCRE and MTCNA, Leadership Training for Managers, Microsoft SCCM 2012, VMWare 3.5, Microsoft DBA 2005, Linux LPI 101, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer: Security (MCSE) 2000, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer: Security (MCSE) NT4.0, and A+ Hardware.
