Phil Clearwater

Phil was previously a Christchurch City Councillor for six years, and a Christchurch Community Board Chair for 18 years, chairing committees on infrastructure, transport, environment, and community development.

Phil campaigned on a platform of bringing integrity, experience, skills and leadership.

His priorities are protecting Canterbury’s groundwater, rivers and aquifers from pollution and exploitation, reducing carbon emissions from agriculture and transport, and developing the public transport system.
