Jeff Young

Jeff Young is a highly experienced professional in environmental science and fisheries management, currently serving as Senior Manager of Global Capacity Development at the Environmental Defense Fund since September 2011. Young has successfully led international networks of fishery practitioners across Asia, driving initiatives for sustainable fisheries and facilitating various research projects. Previous roles include leading the development of the Virtual Fisheries Academy and managing performance metrics for US rights-based management programs. Young's leadership extends to the Surfrider Foundation as Vice Chair, overseeing multiple campaigns for environmental advocacy. Educational credentials include a Master's degree in Environmental Science and Management from UC Santa Barbara and dual Bachelor's degrees in Economics and Molecular Environmental Biology from the University of California, Berkeley.
