Pedro Martins Barata

Pedro Martins Barata is an experienced professional in climate policy and market mechanisms, currently serving as Associate Vice President for Carbon Markets and Private Sector Decarbonization at the Environmental Defense Fund, and as Acting Senior Director for EU Climate Policy. As a Partner and CEO at Get2C since 2013, Pedro manages overall company operations and client relations while also developing international climate change policy and strategic advisory services. Previous roles include consulting for UNFCCC, being a Member of the Executive Board for the Clean Development Mechanism, and serving as Senior Policy Advisor for the Climate Change Commission in Portugal. Pedro's academic background includes an M.Sc in Environmental Economics from The London School of Economics and Political Science and a Licenciatura in Economics from Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
