Tonya Calhoun

Tonya Calhoun, PhD, is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in community engagement and program management within environmental and nonprofit sectors. Currently serving as Senior Director of Community Engagement at Environmental Defense Fund since November 2020, Calhoun is dedicated to advancing environmental justice and equity through strategic partnerships. Previous roles include National Field Manager at Moms Clean Air Force, where relationship management and campaign strategy were key focuses, and Founder & CEO of Altruistically Yours, LLC, emphasizing volunteer program effectiveness. Educational credentials include a BA in Political Science and Psychology from Spelman College, an MPA from Troy University, and a PhD in Public Policy and Public Administration from Walden University.
