Tsion Amare

Tsion Amare currently serves as the Manager of Texas Political Affairs at the Environmental Defense Fund since August 2022. Previously, Tsion held the position of Outreach and Program Coordinator at the Travis County Democratic Party from September 2021 to June 2022, and worked as a Legislative Staffer for the Texas House of Representatives in early 2021. Earlier experience includes a role as a Housing Specialist at Abilene Hope Haven Inc from August 2019 to May 2020, and a Research Assistant for the project "Lego in Play and Life" in 2018, where assistance was provided in conducting in-person interviews under the guidance of Dr. Jennifer Shewmaker. Tsion Amare holds a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Houston and a Bachelor's degree, Cum Laude, in Social Work from Abilene Christian University.
