Monica Mullins is an experienced professional in climate action and environmental education, currently serving as the Regional Climate Action Officer at the Environmental Education Unit of An Taisce since August 2021. Responsibilities include planning climate action events, training climate ambassadors, and promoting local engagement in climate initiatives. Previously, Monica held the position of Green Schools Travel Officer, where tasks involved promoting travel programs, liaising with authorities, and supporting schools. As a PhD researcher at the National University of Ireland Galway from January 2017 to July 2021, Monica focused on the optical properties of surface slicks along the Irish coast. Monica also participated in various research cruises and served as a Research Assistant in Marine Microbiology, possessing a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Marine Science from University of Galway.
