Kathleen Flower

Director, Africa Portfolio at Environmental Incentives

Kathleen brings 20 years of experience in conservation and international development with specializations in capacity development, program planning standards, marine conservation, climate change and resilience programming, and combating wildlife trafficking to her role as Africa Portfolio Director. Her skills in strategic planning, technical writing and communications, project leadership, and client management allow her to lead and support multiple facets of Environmental Incentives’ international work.

Kathleen has experience supporting natural resources management projects in North America, Sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia. She has implemented conservation-oriented projects for international NGOs in all three regions, spent two years as a Peace Corps Volunteer improving rural inland aquaculture in Cameroon, and built her own business and client base as an independent international conservation consultant. Kathleen also led a field-based independent research project in South Africa that provided essential data to improve the management of a small-scale fishery important for food security among rural communities.

Kathleen is motivated to design and lead projects that sustainably advance human well being by improving outcomes for species, ecosystems, and ecosystem services.
