Doug Robison has a diverse work experience starting from 1977, where they worked as a Research Associate at the University of Maryland. Doug then worked at the Mote Marine Laboratory as a Senior Environmental Scientist, managing various projects related to field data collection and analysis. After that, they joined the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council as a Principal Environmental Planner, where they reviewed environmental documents and secured grant funds.

Doug Robison obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Environmental Science & Resource Management from the University of Maryland between 1972 and 1977. Later, they pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Marine Science & Biological Oceanography from the University of South Florida's College of Marine Science, completing the program from 1979 to 1983.
