Erika Walther

Senior Associate Wildlife Biologist at Environmental Science Associates

Erika Walther has held various positions in the field of wildlife biology and environmental research. Erika started their career in 2000 as a Senior Project Manager at Energy Solutions, where they worked until 2013. Following that, they worked as a Graduate Student Researcher at San Francisco State University, studying avian malaria and related vector-borne parasites. At the university, they also served as a Graduate Student Teaching Assistant from 2012 to 2013. In 2012, they became an Independent Consultant to Dr. Shawn Smallwood and the East Bay Regional Park District, where they conducted behavioral surveys of golden eagles and supported a study on searcher detection rates for avian carcasses. From 2014 to 2015, they worked as a Wildlife Biologist at Condor Country Consulting, Inc. Currently, Erika is a Senior Associate Wildlife Biologist at Environmental Science Associates, a position they have held since 2015.

Erika Walther holds a Master of Science degree in Ecology, Evolution, and Conservation Biology from San Francisco State University. Additionally, they obtained a Master of Arts degree in Energy and Resources from the University of California, Berkeley.
